As a Conservative Candidate for BC with a background in law enforcement and firsthand experience in addressing community mental health challenges, I have witnessed the pressing need for effective solutions in British Columbia. Working closely with mental health professionals in a PACT (Police and Crisis Team) role, I’ve strived to bridge the gap between individuals in crisis and the necessary support systems.
Beyond crisis intervention, I recognize the impact of general stressors on mental health within our communities. Economic pressures, social strains, and other stress factors contribute significantly to mental well-being. I believe that alongside crisis response, it’s crucial to tackle these underlying stressors to foster a healthier society.
My approach to mental health centres on proactive measures that empower communities and individuals. I advocate for partnerships among law enforcement, mental health services, and community organizations to ensure accessible and timely care. Prioritizing policies emphasizing early intervention, I aim to prevent crises by providing essential support when needed.
As your representative, I’m committed to securing increased resources for mental health services, strengthening community-based programs, and destigmatizing mental health. By acknowledging and addressing everyday stressors alongside crisis response, I aim to create a more supportive environment, promoting mental well-being for all British Columbians.
